A Chinese shipping company has announced the launch of the first weekly service to Europe via the Northern Sea Route, China’s Central Television reported.

The container ship is expected to call at ports in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, and Poland. Compared to the traditional 40-day voyage via the Suez Canal, the Arctic route only takes 20 days.
