A member of the Economic Commission of the Islamic Republic of Iran described the government as the driving force behind the production of poverty in Iran and said the government’s economic policies were among the factors behind the protests of Dey (December), and that Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf also played a role in implementing these policies.
Hassan Mansour, an economist, said the government is only the implementer of the economic adjustment policies and that these programs have been drafted and implemented for years across the entire system of the Islamic Republic. He added that the government has always acted within the framework of the economic policies and ideas of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic and continues to be the implementer of the same approaches and programs.
