Following the publication of the insult “Ahmad Aryanejad,” a representative of the people of Malayer in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, to “Mahsa Jina Amini” in a debate on “Hamshahri,” Jina’s parents reacted to the insult by publishing a text. “Majgan Eftekhari,” Jina’s mother, also posted, in a separate story on the social media platform Instagram, images of her child who was killed.

In that debate, Ahmad Aryanejad had referred to the government-sanctioned killing of Jina as “to be put to death.” Jina’s parents, in shared stories, reacted to the insult and wrote: “May your tongue be cut off—because you put a country to death, and not only have you had no share of reason and wisdom, but not even a pin’s worth of shame.”

“To be put to death” is a derogatory term in Shiite jurisprudence that is used for the killing of “enemies.”
