An agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman on mine clearance and the establishment of a temporary shipping corridor

Joint statement by the foreign ministries of both governments: 🔹 The proposed framework includes creating a joint temporary shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz and an agreement to implement a joint project in order to clear the strait of mines. The technical negotiations between the two sides, with the aim of reaching an agreement on a permanent shipping corridor and the future management of the strait, as well as a mechanism for exchanging information, managing traffic, and providing relevant navigational and security services, will continue!
