Al-Mukha port in Yemen, after being hit by more than 25 missiles in Houthi attacks over the past days, has halted its commercial and maritime operations. The port’s manager announced this at a press briefing on Saturday evening.
According to him, the attacks left seven people dead and caused damage estimated at the equivalent of $16 million.
Al-Mukha is a port on the Red Sea, near the Bab al-Mandab Strait; a strategic chokepoint that links the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and is considered a key route for international shipping.
