🔶 Alternative for Germany (AfD) wins 44.2%

With nearly three hours having passed since voting ended in the election for the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, new estimates indicate that the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) remains well ahead in first place with 44.2% of the vote.

The Christian Democratic Party (CDU) is in second place with 18% of the vote.

The Left (Die Linke) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) each won 9% of the vote, and the Greens also have 8.6%.

The Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) has now cleared the 5% threshold with 5.1% of the vote and will remain in the state parliament.

The Free Democratic Party (FDP) failed to enter parliament, winning 2.3% of the vote.

Other parties together received 3.8% of the vote.
