Amjad Amini and Mozhgan Eftekhari, the parents of Mahsa Zhina Amini, reacted to the remarks of Ahmad Ariyanijad, a member of parliament, who used the phrase “to be done with/meet death” regarding the killing of their daughter by morality police officers.

Amini and Eftekhari wrote on Instagram: “Ahmad Ariyanijad, the representative of Malayer in parliament, with a term as is fitting and appropriate for himself and for his predecessors, and with words that have no place in any creed, sect, ideology, or form of knowledge, has insulted our daughter, our family, and all the people of Kurdistan and Iran.”

The parents of a victim seeking justice emphasized: “His insult does nothing to lessen the value and exalted standing of our daughter. It is strange that in a situation where people in this country are at the height of poverty and destitution because of the decisions of people like this representative, and thousands of girls and boys of the same age as Zhina are burning with regret over the future that he and others have set ablaze, they have still gone after our daughter!”

They added: “You say that our dear angel ‘met death/to be done with.’ May your tongue be severed that you ‘did away with’ an entire country, and not only have you not received even a drop of reason and wisdom, but you haven’t received so much as a thread of ‘shame’ either.”
