🔻An American aircraft carrier has set sail for the Middle East to replace the “USS Abraham Lincoln”; the ship, according to reports, saw thousands of its sailors face shortages of food supplies and difficult living conditions during a long, nine-month mission.
According to a BBC investigation, the “USS George Washington,” which was near Malaysia on Thursday, may reach the region in about another nine days.
Members of some sailors’ families of the Abraham Lincoln have expressed concern about the worsening of their mental health due to the current conditions, and reports have also been published about some sailors attempting to jump from the ship’s deck.
The U.S. Navy, while confirming problems in supplying provisions, has denied a mental health crisis aboard the Abraham Lincoln. About five thousand people are on board the carrier.
