Arash Azermi, editor of Iran International’s economic section, says that the doubling of the third gasoline-rate and the sale of every liter of gasoline via station cards for 10,000 tomans, along with fuel pricing policy, the fall in the value of the rial, the crisis of aging cars, and the auto manufacturers’ monopoly, are among the factors that intensify the crisis.

According to Azermi, in the end, the Islamic Republic ultimately pays for the costs of its inefficient and inflationary policies from the pockets of the people.
