🔺Axios reported a hidden channel from the White House, with the IRGC’s command, in Ordibehesht

▪ The Axios news outlet reported that the government of Donald Trump established a hidden channel with the command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Ordibehesht, because it did not know whether the negotiators of the Islamic Republic were actually speaking on behalf of this institution or not.

▪ Based on this report, published citing three informed sources, the White House felt in early Ordibehesht that an agreement was close, but the Islamic Republic delayed its response by more than 10 days.

▪ Axios added that the American negotiators concluded that Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, the speaker of parliament, and Abbas Araqchi, the foreign minister, did not have the authority to close the agreement, and that the IRGC was overriding their decisions.
