Badr Al-Busaidi, Oman’s foreign minister, announced on the evening of Sunday, 22 Shahrivar, that the regional “Salalah” meeting, scheduled to be held on Monday, 23 Shahrivar, has been postponed in order to reach a consensus.
Al-Busaidi did not announce a new date for the meeting and said that Oman remains committed to continuing dialogue to strengthen stability and lasting cooperation in the region.
Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, had previously said that the agenda of the meeting on Monday in Oman includes examining a new maritime route in the Strait of Hormuz, and that reopening the strait depends on the United States returning to its commitments under the Islamabad understandings.
