Breaking News: U.S. President Trump via “Truth Social”:

Based on the very good relationship I have with Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, I am not happy that the United States, years ago, agreed to participate in joint military exercises with South Korea.

These exercises are not only costly (and much of these costs are paid by the United States of America, as usually happens), but they also send a signal that is completely inappropriate and hostile to a country that, as long as Donald Trump was president, did not originate any threats from it and behaved respectfully.

Therefore, and since it is already too late for this to be canceled, I have instructed the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, to significantly reduce the volume of the joint military exercises.

While this is somewhat unrelated (?), I recently asked the President of South Korea whether they would like to join us in the nuclear disarmament program of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and they replied: “No, thank you.”
