⏺CENTCOM released new images of the Marines of the Eleventh Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU) deployed on the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD-4); forces that continue to participate in operations supporting the maritime blockade of Iran.
According to the latest CENTCOM report, so far 49 commercial vessels that voluntarily complied with the instructions and avoided entering Iranian ports have changed course. In addition, American forces boarded two ships to check compliance with the blockade instructions, and took two other ships that had refused to follow these instructions out of service from continuing their activities.
The ship Boxer carries the following forces and equipment:
11th MEU unit: The U.S. Marine Corps rapid response unit, with the capability to conduct amphibious operations, air assaults, and combat missions.
Boxer amphibious assault ship (LHD-4), a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship, with the capacity to carry Marines, helicopters, F-35B fighter jets, and amphibious craft, as well as landing craft and assault vehicles.
