🔶 China’s president: The war in the Middle East is to the detriment of the people in the region
China’s president, at a meeting of the member countries of BRICS, said that the continuation of the war in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region is to the detriment of the people in the region and the international community.
China’s state news agency Xinhua, citing Xi Jinping, reported that with the continued developments in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, the war in this region has “caused serious damage” to the people.
He said the war is not consistent with the “shared interests of the international community.”
The remarks were made on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi—an event attended by Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, Beijing has proposed to act as a mediator to help end the war and reduce tensions in the Middle East.
Xi Jinping said China is ready, along with other BRICS members, to play a role in realizing peace and stability in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region.
