🔶 Conversation between Iraqchi and Pakistan’s army commander about Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

A Pakistani security official told Reuters on Friday, 20 Shahrivar (11 September) that Abbas Iraqchi, Iran’s foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, and Asim Munir, the chief commander of Pakistan’s army, discussed ways to revive diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington across all fronts.

According to the Pakistani security official, the conversation between Iraqchi and Munir took place by phone on Thursday, 19 Shahrivar (10 September).

In the call, the United States and Israel’s war with Iran, the possibility of returning to negotiations, and the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia were discussed.

So far, Pakistan’s army has not responded to Reuters’ request for comment on the talks.

Pakistan, which shares a border with Iran to the east, has been mediating efforts for peace between Tehran and Washington. The country has good relations with both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States.
