Dan Brouillette, the former U.S. energy secretary, said in an interview with Fox Business that the intensification of economic pressures on the Islamic Republic could ultimately lead to the collapse of the Iranian government.

In an interview with Larry Kudlow, the host of Fox Business, Brouillette, while pointing to the state of the oil market and tanker traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, said that despite the increase in oil passage through this waterway, conditions remain highly risky, and ships need the presence and escort of the U.S. Navy to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

He said: "It is still a dangerous area and a highly risky situation." Brouillette added: "With the continuation of the economic blockade and the actions the U.S. government is taking against the Islamic Republic, a day will come when this government collapses, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened for trade and shipping, and oil prices will fall."

Larry Kudlow also, while referring to the policy of economic pressure by the U.S. government on Tehran, said that Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury secretary, has spoken of "economically silencing Iran," and that overseas banking networks of the Islamic Republic are in the process of being shut down.

Kudlow also said that Iran's oil exports have "practically reached near zero," and that if this trend continues, global oil prices must also fall.
