🔻Democrats’ resolution to end the war until congressional authorization was issued rejected by a narrow margin

The U.S. Congress on Thursday rejected, by a narrow margin, a resolution aimed at stopping the war with Iran until authorization is issued by Congress.

The resolution was introduced by Democrats.

With 50 votes in favor and 49 against, Congress rejected a resolution that had been passed in the House of Representatives in July.

The vote was largely driven by party lines; most Republicans who support Donald Trump opposed the measure, and almost all Democrats voted in favor.
