The deputy head of the Supervisory Board for Council elections said that a session on this matter will be held soon and that the elections will take place in autumn.

Kamran Poladi, in an interview with the government-linked Tasnim news agency, noted that initially, the Ministry of Interior had proposed holding the elections 45 days after the announcement of the end of the war, but the Supreme National Security Council increased that timeframe to two months. He said the decision was approved by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic and was issued.

According to Poladi, in order to make the timing of the elections certain, during this week or next week, a meeting will be held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Interior, the Central Supervisory Board for Elections, the deputy members of the parliament, and the members of the board of directors.

Previously, it had been scheduled that the seventh term of the council elections would be held on May 1, but due to wartime conditions, the elections were postponed.
