The deputy for nursing at Iran’s Ministry of Health said, on Friday, 23 Mordad 1405, in an interview with ISNA news agency, that there is a shortage of about 100,000 nurses in Iran’s healthcare system.

According to “Abbas Abadi,” the Ministry of Health has announced this shortage “many times,” but with hiring authorizations that are “drip-fed,” it has at best managed to maintain existing conditions.

This Ministry of Health official says that in a letter sent by the ministry to the Administrative and Employment Affairs Organization, a request was made for hiring authorization for 60,000 new personnel for the entire healthcare system, but no response has yet been received to this request.
