Donald Trump, the U.S. president, says that most of the leadership structure of the Islamic Republic has been destroyed and that “no one remains to negotiate.” A day after these remarks, Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s foreign minister, announced that Tehran has not yet made a decision to resume negotiations with Washington. Trump said on Friday in New York, referring to attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran: “They no longer have leadership. Their first tier has been eliminated, their second tier has been eliminated, and half of their third tier has also been eliminated.”
