The European Union has approved allocating €6.1 billion to Ukraine for the purchase of weapons, while today is Ukraine’s Independence Day.

This funding is part of a previously agreed credit facility of €90 billion and does not constitute a new program.

The amounts will be used for “air and missile defense systems, missiles, ammunition, and radars.”

As a reminder, yesterday Zelensky said that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is currently facing a $27 billion budget deficit.
