Following reports of oil pollution leaks on Qeshm’s coasts and mangrove forests in Hormozgan, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson claimed that the pollution had come from the Persian Gulf toward the shore and that “initial evidence suggests that its source is a foreign bulk carrier.”

The statements come while none of the officials of the Islamic Republic have released any report regarding the origin of the oil pollution on the southern coasts of the island of Qeshm.
