Farzin Nademi, senior research fellow in defense and security affairs at the Washington Institute, said that satellite information plays a vital role in monitoring the Islamic Republic’s nuclear activities and military movements, including in the Strait of Hormuz. He added that, under current conditions, the United States may, in the short term, limit itself to close monitoring of Iran’s nuclear program, but he does not rule out the possibility of new military attacks if uranium enrichment accelerates again.

He also said that the Islamic Republic has still not been able to make up for the damage inflicted on its conventional forces and equipment, but that it has rebuilt much of its missile capability and its production of drones and has prioritized this area.
