In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States said: “We call on the Houthis to immediately stop all their military operations and attacks.” They emphasized in their statement that all threats and attacks against the transit of commercial ships must be halted and that the path of diplomacy to find a political solution should be resumed.

In their statement, the G7 foreign ministers also stated that Iran’s arming and support for the Houthis of Yemen violates United Nations Security Council resolutions and therefore must be stopped immediately.
