🔻Heavy clashes between Yemen’s army and the Houthis in Taiz

🔻Yemeni government forces announced that they are engaged in heavy battles with Houthi forces in Al-Qadheha in the Al-Ma’afir area, located in the south-west of the city of Taiz.

The Yemeni government, recognized by the international community and based in Aden, accuses the Houthis of trying to impose a blockade on the country and to halt its oil exports.

For their part, the Houthis also accuse the Yemeni government—supported by an international coalition led by Saudi Arabia—of carrying out similar actions.

The Houthis have held control of Sana’a, Yemen’s capital, and most of northern and western Yemen since 2014.

In recent weeks, the intensity of clashes in Yemen has increased, and the Yemeni army has reported that it has carried out hundreds of military operations against the Houthis.
