🔶 Intensification of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, civilians flee to Djibouti

The Houthis, alongside their recent advances in Yemen, have intensified their attacks on Saudi Arabia. Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Iran-backed non-state armed group, announced that a military base in southern Saudi Arabia was targeted by drone and missile strikes. Without referring to precise details of the attack and its timing, he said that in the attack on a military base in the Sharurah region, “weapons and ammunition depots, as well as the control and command center, were targeted,” which, according to him, “had been tasked with directing offensives against the people of Yemen.”

Meanwhile, Yemen’s government forces reported strikes against Houthi positions in the southwest of the country. They said on Saturday, September 12, that the Houthi militias were targeted in the port city of Mokha in the Red Sea, and later also attacked other Houthi positions in the southwest of the country.

On Sunday, September 13, the Yemeni army wrote in a message on the X network that it “targeted the positions and camps of the terrorist Houthi group with three airstrikes in the Taiz region.” At the same time, the state news agency “Saba” quoted an army spokesperson as reporting that in this operation several vehicles and weapons were destroyed, and a number of Houthi forces were also killed near Mokha.
