The Islamic Republic has warned that ships that do not comply with the regulations set by Tehran for passage through the Strait of Hormuz may be fined, detained, or have their assets confiscated.

Reuters reported on Monday, 2 Shahrivar 1405, that the “Strait of the Persian Gulf Organization,” in a statement, said that ships that violate the new transit regulations for the Strait of Hormuz will face punishments ranging from cash fines to detention and confiscation.
