🔻IRIB: Crew of two Iranian oil tankers targeted in the attack were transferred to shore by lifeboat
IRIB, the media of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has reported that the crews of the two tankers that were targeted in an attack by the United States today were “transferred to shore by lifeboats.”
According to this report, one of these tankers was “empty and the second was carrying a shipment of oil.”
Hours earlier, CENTCOM said it had attacked three Iranian oil tankers, and Admiral Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM, sent a message stating: “Let the message to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps be clear: if you fire at two of our ships, we will impose an even heavier economic cost on you; that is, we will destroy three of your ships.”
According to a CENTCOM statement on the X social network, the attack was carried out after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired ballistic missiles at two U.S. Navy aircraft carriers that were patrolling in the waters of the region.
Iran has not yet made an official comment.
