Jamsheed Barzegar, a journalist and political analyst, said the main difference between Benjamin Netanyahu’s and Masoud Pezeshkian’s speeches at the UN General Assembly was their focus on the people of Iran. He said Netanyahu spoke about the repression, suffering, and restrictions on the Iranian people and, by presenting the Starlink device, emphasized the importance of Iranians having access to free internet.

Barzegar also said that in his speech, Pezeshkian did not address the situation of the Iranian people or recent crackdowns, while Netanyahu challenged what he called the silence of many Western governments in response to what he described as “the suffering and killings of the Iranian people.”
