Joseph Aoun, the President of Lebanon, announced that the country wants a deal with Israel.

The Lebanese president also said: “A deal with Israel can pave the way for peace, and the government is determined to bring the weapons under its exclusive control, but it does not want this process to lead to internal conflict.”

Joseph Aoun said: “We have asked Europe, the United States and Arab countries to help the Lebanese army. Lebanon wants to form a new force in the south of the country so that, after UNIFIL’s departure, a security vacuum is not created.”
