🔻The Kayhan newspaper, criticizing the double standards of Ramin Rezaeian—defending Khuzestan Foolad—questioned the contradiction between his statements on television and the images released in the virtual space of his lifestyle.
🔹Kayhan wrote: “Rezaeian told the people on television just this past week; about economic pressure, the distance of footballers from society, and that one should understand people’s situation. But when that same audience sees images of a different kind of life—expensive clothes, a luxury watch, and his private jet—in his story, they’re left speechless.”
🔹Stressing that having wealth is not a crime, Kayhan added: “The problem starts where a gap is created between the reality of life and the image-making for the audience. In a situation where people in Iran are living under difficult economic conditions, being careless in displaying wealth can create feelings of distance and alienation.”
🔹In closing, the outlet wrote: “A fan can tolerate a player’s defeat and even accept the choice of a rival team; but what is harder to forgive is the feeling of being deceived. It is better for sports figures, instead of constructing the image they think people want to see, to show the image that truly reflects who they are.”
