Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, deputy minister of energy, said to ILNA: “We are supposed to import 450 megawatts of electricity from Turkey to meet the needs of petrochemical plants. All coordination has been done, and the Turkish side is also ready to transmit electricity to Iran.”

He added: “About 500 megawatts of electricity is also imported into Iran annually from Turkmenistan and Armenia.”

The deputy minister of energy said: “The contracts related to electricity imports from Turkey for petrochemical companies have been prepared, and at present the implementation process is pending the action of these companies—meaning that petrochemical companies must move forward to receive the imported electricity.”
