Najat Bahrami, a political analyst, said that referring to Masoud Pezeshkian’s description of the economic situation in the country, the Islamic Republic in the economic sphere “has delivered little,” and that continued pressure and economic blockade by the United States could push the government to change the equation toward creating tension or conflict in the region.

He said that if the government of Donald Trump, the U.S. president, keeps these pressures going until the November elections, the Islamic Republic might resort to a tense move in the region to disrupt this process; a possibility that some of the Islamic Republic officials’ recent positions also reinforce.
