Niloofar Mojaver, a young woman from the Piranshahr and Oshnavieh area, was transferred to a medical center with severe injuries 10 days after leaving her home and died of brain death. Her family holds a 41-year-old man responsible for the incident; a claim that has not yet been confirmed by the results of official investigations.
Two reports published by the government news agency Rekna and the Kurdish human rights organization Krdpa have provided accounts with differing details about how Niloofar Mojaver left her home, how she was injured, and how she was transferred to the hospital. Rekna wrote that the police and the judiciary are still investigating the cause of her injuries and the role of individuals related to this case.
The reports also differ even regarding Niloofar’s age and place of residence. Rekna described her as a 28-year-old girl from Oshnavieh, but Krdpa wrote that she was 27 and from and living in Piranshahr.
