Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson told American media that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is Doha’s top priority, because if the crisis continues the world will face an “industrial disaster.”
Majed Al Ansari, who is also an adviser to Qatar’s prime minister, told CNN: “At the moment, we have two main priorities. The first is ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open and that economic pressure is lifted from all of us and people in the region, including the people of Iran.”
Al Ansari called the second priority the stopping of military attacks and said Qatar is trying to “end the crisis step by step,” not all at once.
