Reuters reported that ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, despite a slight increase compared with the weekend, has remained at a very low level, and at the same time, amid a stalemate in US-Iran talks, on Monday only six cargo ships transited the waterway.

Based on ship-tracking data from Kepler, three of these ships entered the Persian Gulf and three left. The figure was recorded while the average number of transits over the past 10 days was 11 ships. On Saturday, three ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz, and on Sunday only two.

Reuters wrote that during this period no very large oil tanker carrying crude oil or a liquefied natural gas carrier transited the strait. The news agency added that some vessels may have passed through the route with their tracking identification systems turned off and may therefore not have been recorded in the figures. The data also shows that a very large gas-carrying ship without a cargo entered the strait from Iran.
