The country’s Audit Court announced that the significant reliance on a trust network in the process of receiving and transferring funds obtained from the sale of oil and gas condensates brought “the risk of funds being blocked, the imposition of heavy fees, the multi-month stalling of resources, and a reduction in transparency.”
Based on the announcement of this institution, a case involving instances of misconduct, negligence, and leniency by the relevant officials—including in the performance of the Ministry of Oil, its subsidiary companies, and the Central Bank—has been completed and is to be sent for review to the Office of the Prosecutor of the Audit Court.
The Audit Court added that the case of 141 trust-related debtors and the related banks is also on the agenda, and, in accordance with the law, this institution will act to recover the rights of the public treasury and apply the law to those who violated regulations.
