👈 The New York Times: A small team of researchers at the American security company Calif used AI models to build a computer worm that could, within a few hours, compromise hundreds of millions of WeChat accounts without needing any user click or touch.

This malware, called WeWorm, is described as the first known “zero-click” worm that can automatically spread across both iOS and Android operating systems.

According to the report, WeWorm exploits users’ trust in WeChat and, by initiating a call, can endanger a user’s account whether the call is answered or left unanswered.
