The UN Security Council, at the “Food Under Fire” session, examined the effects of wars on global food security. UN officials warned that disruption in transit through the Strait of Hormuz, by restricting the movement of energy, fertilizer, and essential goods, could intensify food insecurity in vulnerable countries.
