Trump has told mediators that he is not inclined to return to the terms of the initial June agreement with the Islamic Republic.

This stance has posed an obstacle to fresh efforts by Qatar, Oman, and Pakistan to revive negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump has now prioritized economic pressure on the Islamic Republic and is prepared to wait to see the outcome of this policy. Anna Kelly, a White House spokesperson, also said that no talks with the Islamic Republic are currently underway or planned, and that the naval blockade and “economic expulsion operations” will continue.
