Trump representatives arrive in Moscow; Kremlin: Attacks on Ukraine will be paused for three days
🔸Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, special envoys of Donald Trump, the president of the United States, arrived in Moscow on Saturday, 14 Shahrivar, as part of the latest effort by the White House to end the war by Russia against Ukraine. After that, these two diplomats will travel to Kyiv.
🔸At the same time, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman of the Kremlin, announced that Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, has ordered that Russian attacks on Kyiv be stopped for three days, concurrently with the visit of Donald Trump’s envoys to the Ukrainian capital.
🔸TASS, the state news agency, quoted Peskov as saying that Putin “has ordered that, starting from midnight tonight, attacks on Kyiv be halted for three days.”
🔸The trip of Witkoff and Kushner to the Russian capital is taking place while negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow are effectively stalled, and at the same time Russian forces have begun a new wave of attacks across Ukraine.
🔸Earlier, the U.S. president had said that Washington has an “idea for peace,” and that his envoys will bring “a proposal for ending the war.”
