🔸U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on Tuesday that over the past week, the United States and its allies in the Persian Gulf have reached an average of “9 million barrels” per day on a daily basis.

🔸This comes as Iran says the waterway is closed and that it has control of it. In response, the U.S. president has announced that the U.S. Navy has full control of the Strait of Hormuz and that it has been clearing mines there.

🔸Chris Wright wrote on the X social network: “Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the U.S. military and our allies in the Persian Gulf, the seven-day average of oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz is now approaching nearly 9 million barrels per day.”

🔸He added that if this figure is combined with another 5 to 7 million barrels of oil per day that is being exported through “newly upgraded pipeline and export facilities,” “the total flow of oil is currently, on average, about 15 million barrels per day.”

🔸The U.S. energy minister also reported that only on Sunday of this week, “more than 20 million barrels of oil” left the Persian Gulf region, which is higher than the pre-war average before the start of the war between the United States and Israel with Iran in Esfand of last year.
