U.S. Navy sailors are conducting maintenance and repair operations on F/A-18E Super Hornet fighters on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) so that the aircraft carrier strike group’s equipment remains fully ready to carry out its mission and implement the United States’ naval blockade against Iran. As of August 8, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has diverted the routes of 53 commercial ships, stopped two vessels from sailing, and inspected two ships to ensure full compliance with the regulations. The U.S. military has also allowed more than 30 ships carrying humanitarian aid to pass through this blockade.
