⏺U.S. President Donald Trump: No one has given the Islamic Republic of Iran as much opportunity to reach an agreement as I have; but unfortunately they couldn’t use that opportunity.

Therefore today I announce the toughest economic operation that has ever been imposed against any country. This will be an economic and isolation war on an unprecedented scale.

Their naval fleet has been wiped out, their air force has been destroyed, their military factories have been turned into ruins, the value of their currency has been wiped out, and their country is hanging by a thread.

Also today I announce that any country that allows its financial institutions, companies, airports, or government entities to provide Iran with any kind of lifeline will also face enormous economic consequences.

Oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, money exchanges, the registration of ships and shell companies— all of these must be stopped right now. You know who you are.

This will be an “Economic D-Day” day, and we need all of our allies to stand with the United States to isolate and defeat the threat from Iran.

They are now in a very weak condition, and these historic actions will paralyze them and their ability to spread terrorism around the world.

Iran will never have nuclear weapons.
