The adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates said his country is seeking to strengthen defense cooperation with Germany, especially in the area of countering drones.

Anwar Gargash, ahead of the UAE President’s official trip to Germany, said in an interview with the media in that country: “Now is the time to upgrade relations between our two countries to the next level. For example, could we cooperate to build capabilities in countering drones?”

He added: “The wars in Ukraine and Iran showed that the world is not ready enough to deal with today’s missiles and drones.”

The UAE President’s adviser expressed hope that strengthening defense cooperation with Germany will help contribute to stability and security in the region.

Mohamed bin Zayed, the President of the United Arab Emirates, is scheduled to begin his official trip to Germany on Thursday, 19 Shahrivar.
