🔻13 fishermen missing in the Persian Gulf; correspondence from Iran’s foreign ministry with the UAE, Qatar and Oman

Iran’s state television reported in a report that after 13 fishermen from the port of Lengeh went missing, the foreign ministry has begun correspondence with the representatives of Oman, the UAE and Qatar.

The Hormozgan governorate has confirmed that there is no information about the fate of these fishermen, whose whereabouts have been unknown since six days ago, when they set out at sea on three separate boats.

Iran’s foreign ministry says that so far it has received documents regarding only the disappearance of four people.

Witnesses told Iran’s News Network that they were last seen near Sireh Island.

Sireh Island is among Iran’s southernmost islands in the Persian Gulf and is near Abu Musa Island.

In the report by IRIB, it said that inadvertent entry into the territorial waters of coastal countries is not an unusual phenomenon, but wartime conditions have increased the “concerns” of families.
