🔻Donald Trump, the U.S. president, in his latest remarks regarding talks with Iran, said “perhaps at some point talks with Iran will be carried out,” but that the current situation is “very good.” He emphasized that dialogue with Iran is conditional on the country “fully” abandoning its pursuit of nuclear weapons.
He said he will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons because “it will use them.”
The U.S. president once again reiterated that his country’s forces have “full” control of the Strait of Hormuz and that many ships also passed through the strait overnight. He said that although scattered drone attacks are still continuing, these attacks are more of a “nuisance” and have not prevented a significant portion of ships from passing.
Donald Trump added that “the price of oil is currently $83, $84, or $85, and when this situation ends, it will go much lower.”
Regarding U.S. control of the Strait of Hormuz, he said “there is plenty of oil, and one of the reasons prices have never reached $300 or $350 is that a lot of oil is being imported.”
