A federal judge in the United States has temporarily stopped Donald Trump’s action to ban the entry of three news outlets to the White House and has ordered his administration to restore access for these outlets.

CNN, MSNBC and Politico had called the ban an “overt violation” of the legal right of freedom of the press and a form of discrimination.

At first, Mr. Trump said he had cut these outlets’ access to the White House because they had published “fake news.” But later, the White House accused them, without providing evidence, of putting “national security” at risk.

This temporary order, which prevents the ban on these outlets’ access to the White House, will remain in effect for 14 days so that the court can have time to review the case more carefully.

Timothy Kelly, the judge of this court whom Trump appointed, said he believes the legal process regarding the cutoff of these outlets’ access to the White House was not followed properly.
