🔸 A U.S. federal judge on Thursday, the second of Mehr, ordered that the government of this country must immediately allow CNN, Politico and MSNBC access to the White House.

🔸 Donald Trump, the president, last Friday banned these media outlets’ access to the White House as a punishment for publishing what he called “fake news” and “stories and lies.”

🔸 CNN, Politico and MSNBC had filed a lawsuit against this decision in court. In their joint complaint, they argued that the order violates the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and asked the judge to overturn it by issuing a preliminary injunction.

🔸 In his ruling, Judge Timothy said revoking the media licenses of the outlets that were barred was “likely to violate legal rights.”

🔸 In his ruling, he wrote: “The general rule is that people should receive notice and an opportunity to be heard before the government deprives them of constitutionally protected benefits.”

🔸 The U.S. government says the purpose of this ban is only to counter fake news, and that the White House “has not attacked the free press.”
