A U.S. federal judge has overturned the ban on issuing immigration visas for Iranian citizens and 74 other countries, declaring the policy of the Donald Trump administration to be contrary to the law.

“Jannet E. Vargas,” a judge of the federal district court for the Southern District of New York, wrote in a 61-page ruling on Friday, 30 Mordad 1405, that implementing this restriction goes beyond the legal powers of “Marco Rubio,” the U.S. secretary of state.
